PreK Literacy/STEAM Day
Yesterday, Carver Magnet Preschool hosted a Literacy/STEAM Day for parents and students. The day began with a performance by Tommy Terrific and His Wacky Magic Show. After the show, Carver kindergarten teachers provided our preschool parents with tips on how to prepare their child for a successful transition into kindergarten. Students and parents then rotated throughout the preschool classrooms participating in literacy/STEAM activities such as storytelling using a felt board, Scholastic Big Day Family online activities, an environmental print hunt, building a shelter for animals, and making towers with buttons and play-doh. Carver Magnet 21st Century After School Program ended our day with a performance by the drum club and theater group. We would like to thank our partners in education First Security Bank for providing our parents and students with lunch as well as Emmanuel Baptist Church for volunteering their support. We could not do it without our community support.
