Quapaw String Quartet Visits Carver
The Quapaw String Quartet visited Carver PreK and 3rd grade students today. The third grade students listened to the quartet play different styles of music from different periods in history. The quartet players presented their "Pictures in Music" program which showcased art from the time periods and played pieces of music that represented each piece of art.
Afterwards, the Quartet played music for our PreK students and talked to them about the orchestra. While the muscians played, our students had a chance to draw pictures that were inspired by the music. This artwork will be displayed at an upcoming Arkansas Symphony Orchestra performance.
