2017 Holiday Hope Giving Project
The holidays are just around the corner and we are preparing for our annual Carver “Holiday Hope” project: December 6-13, 2017
This year, Carver has chosen to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for Children ,The Children’s Tumor Foundation & FEED Arkansas Kids
Carver students can help these worthy causes by bringing in “change” to help
the lives of children right here in Arkansas. Supporting the Children’s Tumor Foundation is near and dear to our hearts, as we have had some of our Carver Family affected with NF (neurofibromatosis) in past years. The Children’s Tumor Foundation is dedicated to improving the health and well being of children and families –money raised for this charity will go toward research finding cures for the forms of cancer, brain tumors, bone abnormalities and learning disabilities that occur with children diagnosed with NF.
Feed Arkansas Kids is a ministry that provides weekend meals for homeless and food insecure children in Central Arkansas. It is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization. The food is purchased by church members and is subsidized by outside contributions from local businesses to help support the growing financial need. The food is ordered through the Arkansas Food bank Network. The Church at Rock Creek provides our needy students with weekend bags throughout the school year.
We also support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. So many children are diagnosed with cancer each year. The funds we raise will go for blood cancer research and support for patients through the Leukemia Society. There is more information about this wonderful organization on the attached form.
These service learning projects will not only benefit the needy but will teach us the value o f helping others. What a tremendous gift and impact giving to others less fortunate will make on all of us this holiday season.
