Art Inspired Books in Mrs. Barrett's First Grade Class
Last week, first graders in Mrs. Barrett’s class read the story The Dot, by Peter H. Reynolds. Their week of learning consisted of art inspired books with the posing question to follow: “What makes a good artist?” The students used Venn Diagrams to compare and contrast characters from other Peter H. Reynolds books, like Ish and Sky Color. Then, it was time for first graders set to work on their very own creation. Using watercolors, the students were able to construct these beautiful and unique dots to brighten up their classroom. They are just so happy about how they turned out!!
